SuperString™ Self-Powering Pixel Technology - Bulk-Order
The End of Power Injection for RGB Pixel Lights
If you’ve ever built a pixel display, you already know the biggest headache:
Power injection.
Voltage drop.
Dim pixels halfway down a line.
Running extra wire everywhere just to keep lights bright.
SuperString™ Technology fixes that.
With SuperString™, every pixel strand powers itself, just like traditional Christmas light sets.
Instead of relying on power traveling hundreds of pixels down a string, every 50-pixel strand starts with fresh power.
No complicated injection runs.
No chasing voltage drop.
Just plug in the strand…
…and go.
Or as we like to say at Mattos Designs:
“Let’s just do it live.”
What Is SuperString™ Technology?
SuperString™ is a new self-powering RGB pixel design created by Mattos Designs.
We take our standard addressable pixels and add two 18-gauge twisted power wires alongside the pixel string, similar to traditional Christmas light wiring.
Each 50-pixel strand receives fresh power at the beginning of the strand, dramatically reducing voltage drop across large lighting displays.
This makes SuperString ideal for:
• Christmas light shows
• MegaTrees
• Pixel matrices
• Rooflines
• Yard displays
• Commercial RGB installations
Compatible Pixel Types
SuperString™ Technology works with several Mattos Designs pixel options:
• EVO Pixels
• EVO Dome Pixels
• 12mm Node Pixels
• BigBack Pixels
These addressable RGB pixels remain fully compatible with standard pixel controllers and lighting software used for animated holiday displays.
Why SuperString™ Is Different
Traditional pixel strings rely on power traveling down long runs of wire.
The farther electricity travels, the more voltage drops — which causes dim pixels and color shift.
SuperString solves this by injecting fresh power every 50 nodes automatically.
Benefits include:
• Reduced voltage drop in RGB pixel strings
• No long power injection cables
• Simplified wiring layouts
• Consistent brightness across pixel displays
• Faster installation for large lighting displays
Instead of designing complicated power injection layouts, installers can focus on building their display.
Perfect for Large Pixel Displays
SuperString™ Technology is ideal for:
• MegaTrees
• Holiday pixel displays
• Christmas light shows
• Large RGB installations
• Pixel matrices and arches
• Commercial lighting projects
It allows builders to expand displays faster without constantly managing power injection points.
Important Power Considerations
Because each strand receives fresh power, current draw can increase quickly.
Before installing SuperString:
• Calculate total amperage draw
• Use properly rated power supplies
• Install appropriate fusing
• Follow wire and connector limits
Proper power planning ensures safe and reliable operation.
When in doubt:
Fuse it. Test it. Verify it.
We’re professionals…
…but electricity doesn’t care.

What This Is For
These are the LEDs that bring your show to life — each one independently addressable, weather-rated, and built to last multiple seasons. Use them for roofline, MegaTree spirals, yard outlines, and matrix props. Pair with a controller, power supply, and the matching data/power injection setup for trouble-free runs.
JR Recommends
Plan the total load, supply, and circuit protection even with the added power wiring. Confirm the strand type and connection arrangement before expanding an existing installation.
