Every prop has passed a test. Now give the complete show a turn. A rehearsal connects the pieces: player, playlist, audio, controllers, props and the settings that start and stop the evening.
Run it the way you plan to run it
Use the actual show computer or dedicated player, the current sequence files and the planned playlist. If the season will run from a dedicated player, a successful test from your sequencing computer does not test that final playback path.
- Check the intended start and end times, the player's clock and the selected show or playlist. Use a short temporary test schedule if necessary, then restore the production schedule.
- Watch the opening, every song transition and the ending. Include announcements, background elements and any intentional pauses.
- Listen through the audience audio path and look for props that freeze, start late, show the wrong effects or fail to turn off as intended.
- Let the rehearsal finish. Check the actual shutdown behavior and, when applicable, the next loop or next scheduled start.
Keep a short repair list
Write down the song, time and symptom instead of stopping to change every small detail. After the run, handle one issue at a time and retest the affected section. If you change shared layout, output or playback settings, repeat enough of the full show to check the other sequences that use them.
Light-O-Rama's Show Player supports scheduled and on-demand shows. An on-demand run is useful for reviewing content; separately verify the schedule you intend to rely on.
Save a known-working copy when the rehearsal passes. Keep that version available while making final improvements so there is a clear route back to the working show.
Mattos tip: Opening night should be another run of a show you have already watched from beginning to end.
