RGB Roofline Lighting Guide | First Project
Start With One Roofline Section
Rooflines are a great first display because you can begin with one straight section and expand later.
- Measure: record the length of each section and identify corners.
- Choose the mounting: find strips or clips suitable for your roofline material and expected weather.
- Plan your pixels: pick a spacing that looks good from the viewing distance, then calculate the node count.
- Choose compatible power and control: match pixel voltage, controller capacity, connectors, wiring and extensions.
- Test: configure a short run and confirm direction and colors before installing.
- Mount safely: follow ladder and electrical safety practices. Do not mount near power lines.
Example
At 2-inch spacing, a straight 10-foot section contains about 60 mounting intervals; exact light count depends on where the first and last nodes sit. Measure the actual track and connection locations before ordering.
