Get one output working, build a clean xLights configuration, and grow into a complete show. Start with the guide that matches the job in front of you.
Identify your enclosure connections, find the controller on your network, and test one compatible strand. Covers the Mattos Baldrick8 and Baldrick17 RTR packages.
Discover the board, assign a model to a physical output, upload the configuration, and verify the pixel order.
A counted example, model, original test sequence, port record and bench checklist for a first EVO strand.
Set up playback on an external FPP player, build a playlist, check the clock, and prove both ends of the schedule.
No lights, only part of a strand, wrong colors, flicker, or a controller test that works while the sequence does not. Follow the symptom to the next test.
Record the working setup, resolve an address problem, understand the reset options, and plan firmware changes.
Compare the available Mattos photographs and product labels, then choose the correct cable, adapter or output cap.
Check the voltage, connector, data direction and route from the controller to the first node.
Count physical cable runs, separate data capacity from the electrical load, and record the supply and output assignments.
Put controllers near their props and understand what network expansion, visitor inputs and relays each do.
Use the onboard effects for suitable lighting projects and understand the handoff to streamed show data.
Review the matched merchandise lists for a first strand, four windows or an Apollo tree. Leave out equipment you already own.

| Your product | Start here | Keep this distinction clear |
|---|---|---|
| Mattos MD1500 Baldrick8 or Baldrick17 RTR | MD1500 quick start | The listed Mattos enclosure is assembled for 12V pixels and exposes one external Ethernet connection. Select the xConnect or Mconnect version that matches your lights. |
| Bare Baldrick8 or Baldrick17 board | xLights setup after the hardware is correctly assembled | The board still needs its own suitable power arrangement, housing, connections and mounting. Read the manual for the exact board revision. |
| Cosmic Baldrick17 RTR | Your exact package listing, then the xLights guide | This is a different enclosure package. Follow its own connection layout and included-parts list. |
| Baldrick Input8 | Interactive inputs guide | Eight inputs and two pixel outputs. The “8” does not mean eight pixel outputs. |
| Baldrick Switchy | Relay-control overview | A relay switches a separately supplied load. This is a different job from sending pixel data. |
For the hardware comparison and links to current packages, see Pixel Controller Comparison. The guides identify their documentation sources and review date; match any screen or hardware instruction to the version in front of you.
Use the First 100 Pixels pack and planning downloads to keep the parts list, output assignments and test results together. Keep a copy with your xLights show folder and another copy away from the show computer.
Send Support@MattosDesigns.com the order number, exact controller package and board revision if known, firmware and xLights versions, pixel voltage and count, connector family, output number and cable length. Include a short video of the failure and tell us whether the controller's own test works. Clear photos of the labels and connections help us identify the next check.
Continue with the full Mattos Learning Center for CoroWorks, MegaTrees, Light-O-Rama, audio and other display projects.
For the EZPlayer route, use local xLights setup or EZRGB cloud setup, then check the controller and network configuration. The separate EZRGB & EZPlayer Learning Center covers songs, playlists, schedules, viewer requests and recovery.
